Frederick Atkins and Justine Goolsby had the desire to start a business in May of 1995, therefore they became business partners. The name of the business had to be a name that would impact and reflect a part of them; Atkins and Goolsby, Janitorial Inc. was chosen. Their desire was to give good service and bring enjoyment to their customers.
Frederick Atkins has a degree in Mechanics from Alabama A&M. After graduating, he worked for General Motors in Chicago for fifteen years as a locomotive inspector. In 1972 he relocated back to Birmingham, Alabama and became a regional manager for a major company until 1996.
Justine Atkins has an Associate’s degree from Mercy College in Mental Health. She moved to Huntsville, Alabama from Cleveland Ohio in 1989 where she started working for the March of Dimes as a telemarketer. In 1990 she became an office manager for a window cleaning franchise. In 1993, Service Masters bought the franchise and incorporated it to a cleaning service. In 1993 to 1995 Justine learned how to clean carpet, floors, and detail clean homes. In 1995 she moved to Birmingham with a desire to own her own business.
Justine Atkins has more than 24 years of experience in the janitorial industry and has established a commendable reputation for Atkins & Goolsby, Inc.
Currently, Justine serves as owner and CEO of Atkins & Goolsby. Since forming the company on November 26, 1995, Justine and her husband, Frederick Atkins, had the vision to make Atkins & Goolsby, Inc. an elite janitorial and cleaning service providing jobs to stimulate urban and rural areas.
Justine owns 51% of the business while Mr. Atkins owns 49%. The company has a staff of fifteen workers servicing and cleaning residential buildings and commercial properties.
